South Shore Performing Arts Co.

The South Shore Brass Band is a professional musical organization based in northwest Indiana along the south shore of Lake Michigan and composed of 28 performing musicians including cornets, flugel horn, tenor and baritone horns, euphoniums, trombones, tubas, and percussion dedicated to the public performance of all genres of music.

The South Shore Brass Band has attracted some of the finest musicians from around the south shore and south Chicago region to provide the highest quality musical performances. In order to maintain this quality, the band pays performers with funds acquired from donations and performance revenues.

The South Shore Brass Band is also dedicated to providing educational opportunities to students from the south shore region by providing a limited number of exceptional student apprentices the opportunity to audition for and play alongside the professional members of the band in an effort to provide these promising students with quality professional performance experience. In addition, endeavors to provide, when reasonably financially possible, special arts educational opportunities for students in northwest Indiana to hear the band perform by means of providing, for example, specially funded concerts at local schools, reduced price student admission tickets to general events, and other educational outreach activities.
